Title of the Book: Into the Wild
Author: Jon Krakauer
 Number of Pages: 224
Rating: ☆☆☆☆

Review:

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer is a compelling story of a young man and his experience traveling throughout the wild. The story includes descriptions of what, and who, Chris McCandless encountered throughout his journey and what he experienced along the way. This story is written by someone who thoroughly researched the experiences Chris McCandless had, although it is impossible to tell exactly what was going through Chris’s mind. Into the Wild digs into what people believe Chris McCandless was feeling and why he got into such a dangerous situation. The whole story revolves around one main question: what led to Chris McCandless’s death?

Into the Wild jumps around and gives the reader many different perspectives to help understand the whole story of Chris McCandless. Chris was just like any other kid; he loved to play in the wilderness, yet was still focused on things like school. Not only did he work hard at school, he did really well. Things started to change when it seemed as though Chris began to question many things in life and what his purpose was. This is what ultimately led to his adventures throughout the U.S. and his encounters with many different people and places. Through researching the places Chris McCandless went and people met, Jon Krakauer was able to piece together experiences Chris had such as trying to cross rivers or climbing through the Alaskan bush that he Chris couldn’t tell himself.

Anybody who is interested in piecing together a mysterious story or finding out about someone’s experience through the wilderness would be interested in reading Into the Wild. It shows someone’s experiences before they died and what led them to isolate themselves from society. Many different people would be interested in Into the Wild, especially if they are interested in adventures and mysteries.

  1. I really like your description. I think you did a great job at "selling" your story to others and not giving away too much information!
